Three Ways to Spend Thanksgiving on America's Rivers

Fall is arguably the best season to embark on a scenic river cruise.
American Queen Steamboat Company is offering a trio of exceptional voyages you and your family won't want to miss this Thanksgiving.
In addition to a holiday feast prepared by world-class chefs, guests can look forward to gorgeous autumn colors, majestic mountains and scenery and a slew of history-rich sites along the way.
For example, travelers can give thanks on the Cumberland River on a cruise from Nashville to Chattanooga.
Guests will not only get well acquainted with the Music City but visit Fort Donelson National Park in Dover, Tennessee and dive into Southern culture, history and architecture in Florence, Alabama.
In Chattanooga, there'll be an optional American Select Premium Shore Excursion to the top of Lookout Mountain for guests seeking even more stunning views.
Meanwhile, a Mississippi River cruise will take holiday revelers from New Orleans to Memphis. The voyage features a two-day stay in the Big Easy as well as stops in St. Francisville, Louisiana and Vicksburg, Mississippi, which played a pivotal role in the Civil War.
Once in Memphis, guests will have the option to experience an American Select Premium Excursion to Graceland, among other attractions.
More interested in tracing the legacy of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, take a Thanksgiving Day cruise in the Pacific Northwest.
This sailing aboard the American Empress paddlewheeler begins and ends in Vancouver, Washington and features a stop in the historic town of Astoria, Oregon along with unrivaled views of the Columbia River Gorge, among other highlights.
