Vision Travel, A Direct Travel Company has announced that it has agreed to acquire Percy Hunt Travel Group, based in Regina, Saskatchewan. The acquisition continues Vision Travel’s strategy to expand in key markets throughout Canada and will see 23 new offices added in Western Canada.
With locations in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia, Kevin Percy and Garry Huntington, the principals of Percy Hunt, have established themselves as leaders in travel throughout Central and Western Canada, specializing in both corporate travel management and leisure travel.
The move will benefit travel agents tremendously by filling a gap in the Canadian marketplace. It will provide greater access and support to agents across the country, in what Brian Robertson, president of Vision Travel (Ontario-West) says is the “best of both worlds.”
In an interview with TravelPulse Canada, Robertson said, “This is the right fit for our organization, and allows us to expand our local offerings in secondary and regional markets across Canada. Such a large acquisition will allow agents to maintain the local feel, but give them access to leverage the benefits and support of a larger organization, which in turn, benefits our clients.”
Agents, particularly those who are home-based, will continue to have support through the Vision Excel Program, and will have greater access and more opportunity to offerings. Vision has also always maintained strong relationship with Virtuso Network and the announcement will allow the company to expand reach to agents in places that didn’t have access to Virtuoso.

“We are very excited to join the Vision Travel team and look forward to continued growth especially here in the West. Vision’s consistent growth over the past 18 years and their clear leadership in the industry made this a very straightforward decision,” said Percy, president of Percy Hunt Travel Group Inc.
“We see many synergies between our two companies and I am confident that our staff and our clients will see immediate benefits of being part of Vision Travel,” added Huntington. “We are specifically pleased about Virtuoso and what that means for our luxury clients.”
Percy will join the Vision Travel leadership team and will continue to oversee operations of the 23 locations and Huntington will join the Vision Travel regional management team as part of finance. The agreement is scheduled to be finalized by January 31, 2018 subject to customary conditions.
