And That's a Wrap: Recap of the 2022 TTAND Awards
Travel Agent Marsha Mowers May 02, 2022

The largest Canadian independent travel agent conference happened on board Harmony of the Seas last week, as The Travel Agent Next Door hosted nearly 300 agents and suppliers for a week long summit. While the week was jam-packed with informative sessions; the highlight of the week was the Friday night TTAND Gala where suppliers and TTAND both gave out awards to their top performers.
Suppliers have voted TTAND their favourite conference for the past three years running; and it’s something President Flemming Friisdahl prides his team on; it’s different from other conferences which can sometimes feel routine. With TTAND, it’s about the relationships.
“We’re here to try and foster relationships, to foster meeting other agents. We started this year a ‘buddy program’ where new agents who hadn’t attended could, if they wanted, find a mentor,” Friisdahl told TravelPulse Canada. “That mentor would help them talk through how to support them at the conference, help them meet people at the conference. As it turned out, we had actually more agents wanting to be a part of mentoring than agents that needed support, which speaks to the comradery of our group.”
That comradery is what help TTAND Agent and ACITA co-founder Judith Coates to take home her second Extraordinary Agent Award, voted by her peers, two years in a row. She also took home the Peer to Peer Award while Christine Winchester also won the Ambassador Award for the second year in a row.
