Tour Operator Brian Simpson November 17, 2017

Sunwing will have more Vancouverites saying “Ya Mon” this winter with the announcement today that the airline will commence its new weekly, direct flight from Vancouver to Montego Bay on December 19, 2017, but will extend the season by two weeks, from the original end date first reported by TravelPulse Canada of April 3, 2018 to April 17, 2018.
The introduction of this flight is the first time that direct, nonstop service will be available between the cities and when service begins, Sunwing is expected to be the only airline offering the route direct from Vancouver.
“We have been offering vacation packages from Vancouver to Montego Bay for three years and are certain that the introduction of a direct flight service will be well received by vacationers in search of a tropical escape this winter.” said Andrew Dawson, president of Tour Operations at Sunwing.
"We are thrilled that Sunwing Vacations will be offering this new service from Vancouver to Montego Bay and excited to share news of this convenient travel option with Vancouverites." said Philip Rose, the Jamaica Tourist Board’s regional director in Canada.
For those in Vancouver who just can’t wait to get to Montego Bay with Sunwing, the Jamaica Tourist Board will help Vancouverites to get a taste of their Jamaica vacation through a colourful and interactive Feel the Vibe Jamaica Pop Up Shop in Vancouver’s Yaletown neighbourhood this weekend. Until Sunday, November 19, the shop at 1263 Homer Street will be transformed into a mini-Jamaica, complete with a “beach” area for lounging. The shop will be open from 4:00 PM to 12:00 midnight every day, with extended hours on Saturday evening to 2:00 AM Sunday morning
"The Jamaica Pop Up Shop will allow guests to Feel the Vibe of our island and fall in love with the destination before booking their vacation." Rose added.
Although Sunwing Vacations already offers vacation packages to Jamaica from Vancouver, this new direct flight will make it much easier for British Columbians to get to this beautiful island of contrasts.
One of Jamaica’s newest resorts, Royalton Negril Resort & Spa, features a host of luxurious amenities including unlimited reservation-free dining, stylish outdoor lounges and nightly entertainment together with a wide range of complimentary sports and children’s activity programs.
Couples and honeymooners can enjoy the Hideaway at Royalton Negril which boasts a dedicated beach area, adults only infinity pool, and exclusive bar and restaurant.

Travellers can also opt for the recently opened Sensatori Azul Beach Resort Jamaica, which combines an enviable location on the legendary Seven Mile Beach with varied à la carte dining experiences, extensive pool complex and a fully-equipped fitness centre. Younger guests will love the excellent daily kids programs including Silly Science Lab, Arts & Crafts and My Gym programs plus Mommy and Baby play sessions for tots.
