Pleasant Holidays announced the addition of American Countess, the newest ship to join American Queen Steamboat Company’s (AQSC’s) fleet of vessels exploring the amazing waterways of America. Scheduled to make its inaugural voyage April 2020, the paddlewheeler offers a variety of seven-night voyages that traverse the Mississippi, Ohio and Tennessee rivers. Themed voyages include the popular Antebellum South between New Orleans and Memphis; Ohio River Sojourn between Pittsburgh and Louisville; Mark Twain’s Mississippi between St. Louis and St. Paul; Civil War between Memphis and Chattanooga; and more, including itineraries that celebrate American Bourbon, Blues and BBQ; and an epic 14-night Mighty Mississippi cruise.
The American Countess provides a more affordable option for Mississippi river cruising, offering select luxury inclusions and amenities while retaining the brand’s high standards for hospitality and service. The ship features 123 staterooms that blend modern design with the company’s signature Americana ambiance, four passenger decks including a Sun Deck and an authentic paddlewheel. Guests enjoy comfortable and inviting accommodations, casual and fine dining options that feature regionally inspired cuisine, insightful lectures, Broadway-caliber entertainment and comprehensive shore excursions in every port.
“We are pleased to offer the full collection of vessels in American Queen Steamboat Company’s fleet, including the Queen, Duchess and Countess on the Mississippi; the Empress in the Pacific Northwest; and Victory I and II on the Great Lakes, New England and Canadian Maritimes,” said Jack E. Richards, President and CEO.
