.With four ways to travel across 25 adventures, here are three highlight road trips from Contiki’s newly launched ‘USA & Canada 2018-20’ program:
NEW! Orlando Explorer
New to Contiki, this un-escorted three or five day stay in what some consider as the “happiest place on Earth” is perfect for clients who dream of living out their Disney fantasies under the glorious Florida sunshine. Included in this short trip is admission for a one (3-day version of the trip) or two-day (5-day version) park to park admission to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure with easy access to the area’s famous amusement parks. In fact, the hotel is set on the I-ride trolley route and offers free shuttles to Universal and Walt Disney World. After checking amusement parks off their wanderlists, guests can then do some shopping by checking out the plethora of outlet shopping in the region or rent a car and head over to Kennedy Space Center and Cocoa Beach. This ‘Short Stay’ does not need to be booked in conjunction with a trip and can be booked as a standalone trip.
Canada & The Rockies (plus Calgary Stampede)
If lush landscapes are enough to bring a tear to your eye, then BC and Alberta will see you weeping. Clients on this 13-day western trek will start in the charming village of Whistler where they will be able to take in the fresh mountain air, hike the area’s trails and have the option of opting into one of the many adrenaline-inducing Free Time Add-ons such as zipline on the ‘superfly’ – jumping 102 km/h. Then weaving on to the likes of the Lillooet Mountain Range, Kamloops to spot local cowboys and cowgirls, Jasper and Banff, before hitting up Calgary. Due to popular demand, more departures have been added during the Calgary Stampede. Dubbed ‘The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth’, the annual celebration features 10 days and 10 nights of non-stop entertainment including the Rodeo, Evening Show, rides, shows and more! The western Canadian road trip finishes amongst the cool vibes of Vancouver where the mixing of Stanley Park’s Totem Poles and the hipster-dom of Gastown make Vancity what it is today.
Grand Canadian
Clients on this epic 20-day road trip will get cozy with their Contiki crew in New York and Boston before exploring Canada in an incredible fashion. Scenery and cities collide as guests will stay in Jasper National Park as a base to explore the Rockies’ largest national park. They will experience Canada’s majestic waterfalls, lakes and mountains as they travel from one end of the country to the other. They will also have the opportunity to explore our country’s largest cities from Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. In la belle province, clients will take a spin around Montreal’s Old Port and quays before driving up to Mt. Royal which offers sensational views of the city. They’ll also have time to shop along Rue Ste.-Catherine and the local boutiques that dot Boulevard Saint-Laurent, before dancing the night away at a jazz bar or at the internationally renowned Montreal International Jazz Festival. In Québec City, clients will walk its cobbled streets and discover its ancient stone houses as they learn more about the only walled city in North America. After a history lesson with a Local Guide, guests have the chance to get out and explore more of what this region has to offer from its vibrant art scene, Parisian-style eateries to quaint river boardwalk.
