All about the Agents: Ultimate Jet Vacations Adds Africa

It’s taken a bit longer to visit Canada than they had hoped for, due to the pandemic of course, but Ultimate Jet Vacations wants the industry to know they’re here and waiting to help agents make their clients’ bucket list come true.
The boutique style tour operator recently added Africa to its offerings, an extensive list that already includes the Caribbean, Mexico, French Polynesia, Maldives, Greece and Italy and will be adding France, Spain and will include Portugal in the coming months.
“It’s been a goal of mine to focus on the Canadian market, and we had started to in early January 2020, and then of course, COVID hit,” explains Simon Jones, GM Sales, South Africa. “Canadians want to visit Africa, a safari for example is on most bucket lists, and while the market here is growing, it has been a little bit untouched by smaller boutique companies like us. I mean that in the sense of how we offer a different dynamic in how we do things.”
That dynamic could be considered a traditional, old-school format. Each agent has their own UJV advisor to help guide them help manage everything from full-service process for all reservations, including flights, hotel accommodations, dinner and spa reservations, tours and expeditions, transfers and any other travel service requirement. There is also a white-label documentation that makes it easy to forward or present Quotes, Invoices, and Itineraries to clients.
“We love a phone call from agents or sending emails and kind of dealing that way, we kind of receive the email and call the agent back. We like to be very hands on, kind of walk you through the process of the booking.”
“We’re very different from mass market tour operators and we also offer 15% commission.”
UJV is asking interested agents to register with their website right now to ensure they receive timely information which is sent out regularly on different regions. Jones encourages agents to contact them with requests so they can connect with one of their team members for follow-up and booking assistance.
“A lot of people ask, why would we kind of look at you because you're somewhat the new kid on the block. And that's somewhat true when it comes to the company. But with our experience within the team, we're more than confident that we can put world class itineraries together.”
