TravelPulse Canada reinforces its commitment to the Canadian travel agency community with the appointment of Brian Simpson as Editorial Director for the Canadian team.
With more than 30 years experience in the Canadian travel industry, Brian brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role. He began his travel career at Wardair 31 years ago and for 24 years held various roles within Sabre, including Travelocity.ca, where he managed their outsource relationships, public relations and media relations strategy. He represented Travelocity.ca in both travel trade and consumer media, often quoted in major newspapers and magazines, appeared frequently on radio and television, and was a frequent contributor to CTV NewsChannel in addition to writing numerous travel-related stories for the Huffington Post.
I’m excited to join the TravelPulse Canada team," ” said Simpson. "Combining my travel and media relations background in order to deliver timely and relevant travel news and information to the Canadian industry is something I am looking forward to. I look forward to working closely with all members of the industry, including travel retailers, suppliers and destination marketers, to bring them the news and information that matters to them. In many ways, it feels like I’ve come home.”
The enhanced TravelPulseCanada.com will feature a daily newsletter with a strong focus on Canadian airline and tour operator content, general Canadian industry news as well as events for all members of the Canadian travel industry and their clients. travAlliancemedia has seen more than 25,000 Canadian agents sign up for its U.S. travel information and training tools with TravelAgentAcademy.com, digital events, and webinars. Agents will love the fact that they can share content with their customers from their incredible library.
“I have known Brian for many years and I’m confident that he has the right combination of industry expertise, personality, and communication style to manage our editorial team here in Canada,” said John Kirk, President and Editor-in-Chief of TravelPulse Canada. “Brian will hit-the-ground running as we work toward the launch of a slightly revised version of our site, ramping up our Canadian content, and increasing the TravelPulseCanada.com subscriber base. We are extremely excited about what the future holds, and really excited about delivering what the industry has been missing in Canada.”
“As we prepare to launch Phase 2 of our Canadian travel website, TravelPulseCanada.com, and also look at ways to make our consumer travel content available to the Canadian trade for their B2C needs, we wanted our Canadian voice to be authentic and local. Our team based in Canada can do just that,” said Mark Murphy, Chairman of TravelPulse Canada Inc.
In addition to TravelPulseCanada.com, travAlliancemedia operates a full suite of print and digital products, including TravelPulse.com as well as Agent@Home and Vacation Agent magazines, Travel Agent Academy, the AgentStudio.com network of thousands of travel agent websites, virtual travel events and a live streaming webinar platform.
