Scott Gutz is leaving Amadeus after 17 years of distinguished service.
In early July, Scott will assume the role of global Chief Executive Officer of Monster, a leading HR solutions company.
Scott joined Amadeus to lead the e-commerce business in North America in 2001, a time at which business and presence in the region was limited. When Scott took over as CEO and President of the region a decade later, Amadeus was still a challenger with just 700 people across four sites with market share of just 7.5% in distribution.
Under Scott’s leadership, Amadeus has built a successful and growing business in North America, with now more than 2,000 people across many sites with a presence in all areas of business. In Travel Channels, which has been Scott’s primary area of responsibility, he has built a great team which has taken Amadeus to number two in the market with 25% market share and approximately 100 million bookings. Scott has enjoyed particular success in developing business with OTAs and Travel Media companies.
In parallel, Scott has helped us build in other areas such as Airline IT where we now have a landmark customer in Southwest Airlines. On top of all that, Scott has always been a great colleague and a pleasure to work with.
Rajiv Rajian, the head of Business Travel in Travel Channels, is appointed to lead Travel Channels in the Americas. Rajiv, who joined Amadeus from Sabre in May 2016 and is based in Dallas, has already made considerable progress in the business travel environment will also play a key role in developing business across all four segments in the Americas.
Scott will remain until July 1st, 2018 and will help prepare for the transition to new leadership.
