As myriad challenges facing the lodging industry—the slow encroachment of the sharing economy, dealing with the aftermath of mega mergers and how to meet the demands for newer and faster technology from an increasingly connected customer—The Hotel Association of Canada (HAC) must face a new challenge of its own. After 25 years at the helm o the association advocating for the lodging industry, advocate-in-chief Anthony Pollard has retired.
Replacing him is Susie Grynol, who hails from the Retail Council of Canada, where she held the title vice president, federal government relations since 2013. With more than 10 years’ experience in managing political affairs and public relations, Grynol, who is fully bilingual, has an established track record in managing complex industry issues.
“We are delighted that Ms. Grynol will be joining the HAC as President and are fortunate to have someone with Susie’s talents, experience and breadth of knowledge join our industry”, said Philippe Gadbois, chair of the HAC Board. “I look forward to working with Susie to ensure the industry’s needs and goals continue to be reached.”
Grynol will start with the HAC effective Oct. 17, 2016.
