BREAKING: Jim Byers and Marsha Mowers Join the TravelPulse Canada Team

TravelPulse Canada continues to have a powerful impact on how travel agents and industry professionals receive their daily news. And in order to ensure we continue to deliver at the level agents and suppliers have come to expect from us, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Byers as Senior Editorial Director, and Marsha Mowers as Director Content Management, effective December 1, 2017.
“Jim Byers is one of the best-known travel writers in Canada and quite possibly, all of North America.” said John Kirk, TravelPulse Canada’s president, & editor-in-chief. “He served as travel editor at the Toronto Star for several years and for the past four years has been a freelance travel writer. He knows the industry and he knows the issues Canadian travel professionals care about.”
Jim has written for some of the world's most prestigious titles, including National Geographic, The Globe and Mail, WestJet Magazine, United Airlines’ Hemispheres magazine, Porter Airlines’ re:porter magazine, and British daily, The Guardian.
Marsha Mowers has represented some of the biggest destinations in the world including New York City, San Francisco, Las Vegas and the State of Arizona. With nearly twenty years in the PR industry prior to working in the travel industry, she has worked at Citytv, where she led the public relations efforts, prior to moving to CTV, as well as leading the marketing and communications efforts at St. Joseph Media for Wedding Bells and Canadian Family Magazines.
“Marsha has worked with some of Canada’s biggest brands and events including Turo, Molson Canadian, the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Hockey Canada, and the TIFF Bell Lightbox.” added Kirk. “The breadth of her experience is a welcome addition to our growing team.” Kirk added.

Brian Simpson, TravelPulse Canada’s current editorial director, has chosen to explore other opportunities in the travel industry but will continue on in a reduced capacity and continue to write for TravelPulse Canada.
“Brian has been instrumental in ramping up our editorial content this year and we’re thrilled that he will continue to contribute to TravelPulse Canada moving forward.” said Kirk.
In the coming months TravelPulse Canada will “Canadianize” and roll out our highly successful Agent Studio program, an industry-leading website solution that provides travel agents with a dynamic online storefront, and ramp up our efforts with our award winning Travel Agent Academy learning platform as well as our state-of-the-art webinar product,.
