The Baha Mar: Everything You Need to Know for Clients

The Baha Mar - the much anticipated luxury hotel and mega-resort development in Nassau, Bahamas - is now completely open and operational. The Baha Mar resort destination is made up of three major hotel brands that seamlessly work together, yet function separately, to provide an unforgettable luxury experience. Although facets of each hotel are open to both the general public and anyone staying on the Baha Mar property, there are a few things you should know about each hotel before choosing the right accommodation for your client.
The Party Hotel

If their logo of four monkeys playing in a chandelier is any indication of who this hotel is best suited for, I’d say it’s perfect for those looking to be playful and perhaps a bit mischievous while on vacation in the Bahamas. The SLS Baha Mar is SLS’s first international property outside the US and typically attracts a younger crowd interested in luxury culinary experiences and a celebratory lifestyle. The hotel itself consist of 299 rooms, almost half of which are suites (109 suites), all beautifully decorated with white modern decor. SLS Baha Mar is not only home to Skybar, the first rooftop lounge on New Providence island in the Bahamas, but they also have their own private pool with cabanas where they host exclusive pool parties for guest of the hotel only. On Friday’s DJ-led pool parties kick off the weekend starting at 11AM and often end with fog machines and champagne showers. Many of the high-end restaurants within the Baha Mar resort destination are managed by SLS including: Fi’lia, a new Italian concept; Cleo, a Mediterranean inspired restaurant with sharable plates, flatbreads and mezzes; Katsuya, a modern twist on traditional Japanese; and Carna by Dario Cecchini, a contemporary steakhouse concept. SLS also manages the only nightclub on the Baha Mar property, Bond Nightclub, a 10,000 square foot venue with table-side bottle service to ensure you can keep partying well into the night.
Family Friendly But Not Family Focused

Anchoring all hotels on the Baha Mar Campus is the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar. Located in between the SLS and Rosewood properties, the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar is where you will find the largest casino in the Caribbean. This impressive 10,000 square foot casino features world class gaming and live entertainment with the latest slot machine and table games. The fun doesn’t end there though as the hotel also boast 6 pools, each with their own character, that are open to all Baha Mar campus guests. The pools feature either day beds, in pool chaise lounge, or cabanas with a private depository safe for extra exclusivity, security and privacy. The hotel itself has up two towers (east and west) and consists of an astonishing 1,800 rooms - 230 of which are luxury rooms ranging from one to three bedrooms. To further upgrade your stay guests can opt in for The Reserve, a hotel within the hotel that comes with a private check-in desk, butler service, and access to The Reserve’s private lounge. Even though both towers were designed with an underlining water theme, the east wing stocks more upscale products and feels quite different to the decor of the west wing. Although not family focused the Hyatt is the most family friendly property on the Baha Mar and is ideal for anyone travelling for business (the convention centre is part of the Hyatt) or with their family but still wants to receive the luxury experience and high-end service that the Hyatt brand offers.
Your Bahamian Home Away From Home
The final and most glamours of all the three properties that make up the Baha Mar resort destination is the newly opened Rosewood Baha Mar. The property was designed to make you feel like you were visiting a friends home in the Bahamas with top notch service from the moment you touch down on the island. Your experience with Rosewood begins as soon as you grab your luggage as guests are first greeted and ushered into the Baha Mar lounge* where they receive a champagne welcome while being checked in to the hotel at the airport. Following check-in guests are then escorted to the hotel in a private vehicle where they receive an additional welcome cocktail, Sky Juice, an island specialty. The hotel itself is the smallest of all three properties and consists of 237 rooms - 96 suites and 4 villas - all of which provide the most premium, 5-star luxury experience of all the hotel properties. High tea is served daily in the library and the hotel is beautifully decorated with hand painted native motifs on the walls and a carefully curated collection of tasteful local art**. Although guests of Rosewood are allowed to use the Hyatt pools, Rosewood Baha Mar does have its own private pool and beach only available to guests of the hotel and provides a quiet sanctuary away from the other two busier and rowdier properties. Rosewood is the perfect choice for any client looking for a relaxed, exclusive Bahamian vacation and are willing to splurge for it.
In addition to picking the right accommodations for your client there are definitely a few additional fun facts that make the Baha Mar unlike any other resort property in the Bahamas. For one, the entire Baha Mar resort destination is cashless. Money can be added as credit to your room card on which all charges are then made to. Second, no matter which hotel you choose, all guests have access to the Royal Blue Golf Club,18 hole Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, the Baha Mar racquet club, and all water activites. Third, both luxury brand and charming local boutiques can be found on the Baha Mar resort destination making it easy to spend your casino winnings. And finally, the Baha Mar is home to the flagship ESPA spa which is open to all Baha Mar guests and offers an exceptional atmosphere for relaxation and rejuvenation. No matter which property you choose for your client you can rest assured about one thing, they are in for an unforgettable luxury Bahamian experience at the Baha Mar.
