Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. will expand its Quebec portfolio next year when the brand opens the new Sheraton Saint-Hyacinthe Hotel. The property, which is scheduled to open by the end of the year, will be Starwood’s 13th property in the province.
“Sheraton Saint-Hyacinthe represents another strong addition to the expanding Sheraton portfolio in the province of Quebec,” said Bob Jacobs, Vice President of Brand Management, Sheraton North America. “As one of the most global hotel brands in Starwood’s portfolio, Sheraton continues to experience accelerated growth in key markets. Fuelled by strong partners like Galeries St-Hyacinthe we are working toward our goal of adding 150 new hotels by the year 2020 across the globe, and the signing of Sheraton Saint-Hyacinthe is an important step in building that momentum in Quebec.”
The 17-story, new-build property will feature 205 guest rooms including 28 suites, an on-site restaurant, fitness centre and indoor pool. On the 17th floor, elite guests can take advantage of a Sheraton Club Lounge with complimentary breakfast, drinks and nightly hors d’oeuvres. The hotel will be connected to the new 230,000 square foot congress centre of Saint-Hyacinthe but event planners can also take advantage of six on-site meeting rooms.
Owned by Beauward Shopping Centres LTD., Sheraton Saint-Hyacinthe Hotel will be located within Galeries Saint-Hyacinthe, a commercial and office complex with 150 stores and 500,000 square feet of retail space.
“We are pleased to be working with key partners, including Starwood Hotels & Resorts to bring Sheraton to Saint-Hyacinthe,” said Marc Bibeau, President of Beauward Shopping Centres LTD. “This new hotel will grant Saint-Hyacinthe a distinct visibility in the highly competitive business tourism market, bringing considerable economical results to the region. The Sheraton brand is an ideal fit for the location and our overall vision; we’re delighted to welcome a brand that seeks to create effortless travel experiences for its guests.”
“Beauward is excited to be overseeing this important project for the city of Saint-Hyacinthe,” said André Fortin, Vice-President of Development, Beauward Construction. “We have high ambitions for the hotel and believe that working with the internationally-renowned Sheraton brand will significantly raise the bar in the area.”
Located in the Montérégie region near Montréal, Saint-Hyacinthe is a leading agri-food region in Québec. The city is also the first Canadian member of the prestigious international Association of Science Parks.
