The Sheraton Hiroshima Hotel has become the second property in Japan to join the exclusive brotherhood of properties that carry the Sheraton Grand designation. A new brand for Starwood Hotels & Resorts—the same company that is known for its innovative, lifestyle brands—Sheraton Grand is an elite tier of properties that are located in distinctive destinations and are recognized for the distinguished designs and excellence in guest service.
With its large guestrooms, innovative dining concepts, and highly personalized service, the Sheraton Grand Hiroshima Hotel was a natural fit to join the growing luxury brand.
“We are thrilled to unveil Sheraton Grand Hiroshima Hotel, which joins a distinguished portfolio of the finest Sheraton properties worldwide,” said Hiroyuki Yamamoto, general manager, Sheraton Grand Hiroshima Hotel. “From elegant finishes and stylish guestrooms to our signature restaurants and spa, the hospitality experience is heightened by our top-notch staff going the extra mile to exceed guests’ expectations.”
The property is home to 238 guestrooms, including five suites, each of which features the Sheraton Signature Sleep Experience, a 37” Flat Screen Television, DVD player, and High Speed Internet Access. The property also includes 29 Sheraton Club Rooms, where guests enjoy 24-hour guest service as well as complimentary breakfast and all-day refreshments in the Club Lounge, which comes complete with a panoramic view of the historic city.
The property is home to several culinary venues, including Miyabi-Tei, the signature Japanese restaurant and bar. Here sushi and sashimi are a must, but guests can also enjoy an extra-traditional, multi-course kaiseki meal, which in Japan is a cross between haute cuisine and living art form. More casual dining is also available at Bridges, the all-day restaurant and in the Lobby Lounge, which serves an exclusive lobby bar menu of small, artisanal dishes and eclectic bar snacks.
The property also offers equal parts business—with 3,638 square feet of meeting space—and leisure—the Shine Spa for Sheraton, a pool and a fitness center.
The Sheraton Grand Hiroshima Hotel is located near the area’s government offices and shopping zones and is also easily accessible from the shinkansen bullet train.
Overnight Packages
The property currently has a number of promotional offers, including a “Healthy Hotel Stay,” where a nutritionist will consult with you on your dining choices; the “Hiroshima Toya Carp” plan for baseball enthusiasts; and the "Miyajima Plan,” which includes a one-day transportation pass (bus & ferry) so visitors can view Japan’s iconic Itsukushima (floating) Shrine.
The best bet might be the “Spa Luxury Package with Club Floor,” which includes a Club Floor room, complete access to the snacks and beverages in the scenic Club Lounge, a 60-minute spa treatment, and a full Kaiseki dinner at Miyabi-Ten. Rates start from about C$ 400.
