Mexico is a vast country with a thrillingly diverse culture, cuisine and topography. It’s hard to see it all, but a new Riviera Maya resort offers a deep dive into the best of our North American neighbour.
“Our owner’s philosophy has always been that he understands that not everybody can go to all the corners of the country and all the amazing villages, so he wants to bring the best of Mexico to one single place where you can see it all,” says Sakari Malinen, Director of Sales, Hoteles Xcaret.

The new resort – it opened on July 1 -- is the Hotel Xcaret Arte, sister property to Hotel Xcaret Mexico, which introduced a new level of vacation to the all-inclusive market – the ‘All Fun Inclusive.’
When Hoteles Xcaret uses the term all-inclusive, it truly means it. The experience begins at the airport, with round-trip transportation on its own buses. All the food, drink, activities and entertainment at the resorts are included too, but there’s another big inclusion you won’t find elsewhere -- transportation and admission to all the Grupo Xcaret parks and tours in the area.
This means free admission to popular attractions including Xcaret, Xel-Há, Xplor, Xplor Fuego, Xenses, Xoximilco, Xavage and Xenotes. And this means adventures such as zip lining, driving ATVs through the forest, snorkeling, exploring cenotes and touring Mayan ruins -- all included for one price.
Hotel Xcaret caters to all ages, but the new Hotel Xcaret Arte adds an exciting new option – an authentic experience-packed, foodie-focused vacation for those 16 years of age and up.
The layouts of Hotel Xcaret Mexico and Hotel Xcaret Arte are similar on the surface, but there are significant differences within. The décor is an homage to Mexico’s artistic traditions. Accommodations include 900 sophisticated suites with decor inspired by national and regional artists, the proud guardians of the country’s rich culture.
The single rooftop area at Hotel Xcaret Mexico was so popular that four distinct rooftop areas were incorporated into the new resort, all offering incredible views of the Caribbean Sea and the sprawling property. The rooftop pool and bar area on top of Casa de los Artistas has quickly become a guest favourite.
Malinen told TravelPulse that Hotel Xcaret Arte’s ideal client is “somebody who, on top of sun and beach and fun, also enjoys culinary experiences and is also interested in being part of making art.”

That explains more about the name – Hotel Arte offers a variety of creative workshops enabling guests to learn new skills and create their own souvenirs.
The hotel is divided into five houses, or casas, each one with its own themed workshop. For example, there are dance classes offered in Casa de la Música, while Casa del Diseño has a workshop to teach weaving. Other options include painting, pottery and literature.
The all-fun concept includes more than creative expression. Guests can use kayaks and paddleboards on the property, and there are energizing, entertaining activities scheduled day and night.

Another standout aspect of Hotel Xcaret Arte is its in-depth culinary offerings. From mobile food carts serving fresh Mexican-spiced grilled corn or fresh juices poolside, to fine dining restaurants offering gourmet creations, guests’ taste buds can explore the many flavours of Mexico and beyond.
“We have created this culinary team of top Mexican celebrity chefs. We also have this variety of different cuisine from different areas of Mexico,” Malinen said, noting that Hotel Xcaret Arte is one of very few all-inclusive resorts to include a restaurant run by a Michelin star chef without charging an extra fee.
Among the restaurant options are Kibi-Kibi, serving favourites from Yucatan and Lebanon; Xaak, honoring the destination’s ancestors by showcasing pre-Hispanic food; and Encanta, which creates innovative modern Mexican cuisine.

When guests are in the mood for some tranquil pampering, they can head to Muluk Spa, which offers soothing hydrotherapy rituals, private treatment rooms in natural caves, an Alchemist Room and more.
If your clients love the carefree convenience of the all-inclusive experience, help them take it to a higher level by recommending Hotel Xcaret Arte. Where else could they experience so much of Mexico in one all-fun-filled vacation?
