Hotel Association of Canada Looking for Superstars

If you’ve stayed at a Canadian hotel or resort that’s offered stand-out service, the Hotel Association of Canada (HAC) wants to hear your story. Every year, the HAC recognizes individuals, companies and properties that have demonstrated “significant accomplishments, exemplary leadership and tireless commitment” to Canada’s Hotel Industry through its Hall of Fame Awards of Excellence.
The HAC is now accepting nominations for the 2016 Hall of Fame Awards of Excellence, through Nov. 11, 2016. Award winners, which are separated in several categories, will be honoured at the HAC Annual Conference Feb.16-17, 2017 in Toronto. The following divisions are now available for nomination:
The Humanitarian Award
This award can be given to an individual or a program which demonstrate how their individual property responds to the needs of the local community.

The Human Resources Award
This award recognizes an individual or program that helps develop a climate conducive to new and/or repeat business. It can also honor someone who creates goodwill among guests, provide special services, reverse negative public relations situations or effectively solve guest complaints.

The Green Key Environment Award
This award recognized properties that have integrated environmental management practices that help improve everyday operations and the bottom line, while maintaining quality service and meeting guest expectations.

Recognizes facilities for their commitment to improving the environmental performance for meetings held at the property.

Stephen Phillips Passion for Hospitality Bursary
Dedicated in the memory of Stephen Phillips, the former Vice-Chairman & CEO of AFM Hospitality Corporation Inc., who passed away from cancer in 2007. The bursary is awarded to the hospitality student who best represents the qualities that Stephen Phillips brought to the industry.
