Travel agents who specialize in selling Sandals Resorts International received an email last week informing them that the company’s popular Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa will no longer close in 2020 and 2021, as originally planned.
Earlier in the year, Sandals proposed closing Beaches Turks & Caicos during certain dates through 2021, and beyond. In a letter sent out by Sandals in January, agents were informed that the popular Turks and Caicos hotel would close from September 7, 2020 to October 22, 2020; and for an indefinite period starting in January 2021.
However, those plans have officially been scrapped.
In the most recent email, which was sent by Gary Sadler, senior vice president of sales for Unique Vacations, Inc., an affiliate of Unique Travel Corp., worldwide representatives of Sandals Resorts International, agents were informed that “the impending closure being considered has been rescinded and will no longer take effect.”
"Our hope is that you’ve come to love this award-winning resort as much as we do, so it’s with great pleasure that we also announced the resort will remain open in 2020, 2021 and beyond," Sadler wrote in the email.
According to the email, however, the resort will be closed from Sept. 3 to Oct. 14 of this year, but that closure is for normal, seasonal upgrades.
Inventory that was kept off the market during the proposed closures is now live and available to book. According to the email, the two windows of time that were blocked off during the considered closures were from Sept. 7, 2020, to October 21, 2020, and from January 15, 2021, and onward. Inventory for both of those time periods, however, is now live.
"Rest assured that Beaches Turks & Caicos will always be entirely operational with its complete range of services, full staff and the comprehensive resort amenities we’ve become known for," according to Sadler's email. "Our devotion to providing the absolute best vacation experience will never waver and you can pass on that promise to your customers with confidence."
