With a second all-inclusive, five-star eco-tourism hotel set to open in December 2020 on the Riviera Maya and a new extreme adventure park that just opened in Cancun, Grupo Xcaret is seeing green for the coming years.
Our editorial director spoke with two spokespersons of the group during the last Tianguis Turistico, which took place from April 7 to 10 in Acapulco, to learn more about these new tourist icons that are likely to attract many visitors to Cancun and the Riviera Maya.
While Grupo Xcaret's first all-inclusive hotel, Xcaret Mexico, opened in December 2017 on the Riviera Maya and is a huge success because of the unique ecotourism experience it offers, the second in the group, La Casa de la Playa, will be inaugurated in December 2020 in the heart of the Mayan jungle.
Designed by David Quintana, Grupo Xcaret's Vice President, the five-star resort will be located halfway between Cancun and Tulum, and will be for adults only. Representing $85 million in investment, the all-inclusive boutique hotel is a tribute to Mexican design and art.
ALL-FUN INCLUSIVE
Comprising 63 spacious, luxurious and sophisticated suites each offering unique views of nature and featuring Mexican-designed home décor and crafts, the boutique hotel will feature four restaurants serving upscale Mexican food, overseen by renowned Mexican chefs such as Martha Ortiz, Ricardo Munoz Zurita and Franco Maddalozzo.

Each of the suites will be equipped with a private pool, 24/7 butler service, 24/7 room service, hammocks and terrace with sun chairs. "Everything is done to make our guests feel at home in a very Mexican setting," said Anita Hernandez, Communications Manager at Xcaret Mexico Hotel.
"What sets us apart is that we are working with a new concept, the ALL-FUN INCLUSIVE that includes not only drinks, meals and private transfers from the airport to the hotel in our packages, but also unlimited access to our nine adventure parks as well as private transfers to get there. We are the only company to offer this."
Another element that distinguishes Grupo Xcaret is its sustainable development policy. "We do not use plastic in our facilities. We bottle our own water in glass bottles. Our management philosophy is based on three elements: the planet, people and prosperity, "said Hernandez.
Xavage: the most extreme park of the group
Open since April 15 from Monday to Sunday from 8:30am to 5:00pm Xavage Park is the most extreme park designed by Grupo Xcaret. Located five minutes from the Cancun airport, Xavage was built at a cost of US $78 million and brings the total number of theme parks owned and managed by Grupo Xcaret to nine.

"Xavage offers seven fun adventure courses with four levels of difficulty; this is what sets it apart from our other parks, "said Iliana Rodriguez, Ecotourism, Parks and Grupo Xcaret's Director of Communications.
"Customers can travel at their own pace without having to wait for other customers. A guide is also on site for each attraction to help customers complete their journey and make sure everything is going well. "
Xavage's extreme attractions include a children's rope course, rafting on the largest artificial river in the world, ziplining, kayaking, dragonfly, and all-terrain vehicle driving on rocks.

While Xcaret Mexico customers have free and unlimited access to the new attraction (and other Xcaret parks), other customers should expect to spend between $70 and $170 US for entry, depending on the number of courses chosen.
In addition to these new additions, Grupo Xcaret plans to build 10 new ALL-FUN INCLUSIVE ecotourism hotels over the next 10 years.
