UNIGLOBE Travel (Eastern Canada) held their 2017 Regional Fall Conference at the Nottawasaga Resort in Alliston, Ontario. Over 125 UNIGLOBE franchise owners, managers and staff from Ontario and Quebec attended the event along with preferred supplier partners and title sponsors Air Canada and Air Canada Vacations.
“Our fall conference was very well attended and because it was my first time, I did not know what to expect.” said James McNair, regional president, UNIGLOBE Travel Eastern Canada. “But I was amazed at all the enthusiasm and the great people that attended.”
In support of its theme “Better Together”, breakout sessions provided valuable insights relative to a wide range of timely subjects including presentations from UNIGLOBE’s GDS partners, Amadeus, Sabre and Travelport.
Other breakout sessions covered topics entitled Growing Your Business with Email and Social Media; Navigating Through Objections; Apps Unleashed; Grasp Technologies; and “Sticky” Sales Presentations.
At the gala awards dinner at the conclusion of the two day event, franchise owners Cyrus Rustamji and Gordon Miller, along with manager Kathi Moran, from The UNIGLOBE Premiere Travel Group in Ottawa and Toronto, accepted the award for Agency of the Year.
Also at the gala dinner, Shawn Ashton, owner of Sportscorp Travel from Bolton, accepted the award for Partner Agency of the Year for the 4th year in a row.
“The opportunity to meet all the Managers and Front-line counsellors was truly beneficial for me.” McNair concluded. “I received very positive feedback and encouragement from all our members and preferred suppliers that helped make this an outstanding event. And this event would not be possible without the great support we had from our title sponsors, Air Canada and Air Canada Vacations.”
