These Winter Sun Destinations Just Got Cheaper

If you’re looking to pack up your troubles in your old kit bag, it might be time for a winter getaway. If you’re still waiting for inspiration, or maybe lower prices, the travel experts at FlightNetwork.com, Canada’s largest locally-owned-and-operated travel agency, have revealed their list of 27 destinations where Canadians can enjoy great rates. Specifically, these destinations, located in such sunny climes as Central and South America and the Caribbean, have seen travel prices dip as much as 43 per cent lower than in previous years.
"It's no secret that the winter travel trend for Canadians is to head to warm destinations like Central or South America," said Neil Bhapkar, Chief Marketing Officer at Flight Network. " But with prices significantly lower than last year due to a stronger Canadian dollar in Central and South American destinations, Canadians can take advantage of this devaluation and spend more time on holidays for less."
To create the list Flight Network’s travel experts spent months gathering data on winter destinations, including collecting data on hotel and flight fares, investigating currency exchange rates and conducting interviews with tourism boards and other travel marketing experts.
"Our list consists of islands, cities, and beaches that aren't only world-renowned for their warm weather, but are more accessible and affordable for the Canadian traveller than before."
The result? The Canadian dollar is stronger—especially in these 27 destinations—than most travellers realize.
"The airline industry is rapidly changing along with fluctuating currencies, and it's showing us that vacations that were once an indulgence are now more affordable for the everyday Canadian,” said Bhapkar. “We're really excited about what we've found here, and we can't wait to show Canadians the bang they can get for their buck.”
So, trade in your ice scrapers for snorkelling gear and get ready for a sunny getaway. Results include:
