Most Instagrammed Locations in Canada
Features & Advice Monica Poling December 02, 2016

No doubt, Canada is a gorgeous, scenic land...worthy of your social media likes and shares.
From the most remote corner, known as Iceberg Alley, to the highest tides in the world, to its snowy mountain peaks and vast stretches of open plains, there are countless ways for photographers to capture the many personalities of Canada. When it comes to social media, however, there are a few definitive favourite locations, according to recent information released by popular photography platform, Instagram.
Not surprisingly, Niagara Falls clocked in as the most Instagrammed Canadian location in 2016. The data was based strictly on the use of geotags.
Niagara Falls

Air Canada Centre

Vieux Port de Montreal

Most Instagrammed Hotels in the World 2016
When it comes to hotels, it's obvious that people love snapping pictures of mega-gaming resorts. Five casino-hotels from Las Vegas made the top ten, with others from Dubai and Macau also topping the charts. Beyond the gaming scene, people loved the W New York in Times Square and the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach. Interestingly the Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel made the list, which is a bit of puzzler because it leads one to question the volume of people at W Times Square vs. the volume of people at one of the southernmost places on earth.
1. MGM Grand Las Vegas
2. W New York - Times Square
3. The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
4. Atlantis The Palm, Dubai
5. Caesars Palace (Las Vegas)
6. Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino
7. Fontainebleau Miami Beach
8. Wynn Las Vegas
9. Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel (Official)
10. The Venetian Macao
Most-Instagrammed Locations of 2016 (based on global geotag data):
When it comes to global favourite locations, it’s clear that the United States draws big crowds. With the exception of the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum in France and Russia’s VDNKh building, all the other most Instagrammed locations in the world are located within the United States. Not surprisingly, the two most Instagrammed locations are, generically, Disney Properties and Universal Studios Properties, so they probably also account for some international snaps as well, but the rest of the list is made up of single location entries, including three in New York, Central Park, Times Square and the Brooklyn Bridge, one in Los Angeles, the Santa Monica Pier and one in Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Strip. Not familiar with the VDNKh building? It’s an exhibition building and amusement park located in Moscow.
1. Disney Properties
2. Universal Studios Properties
3. Central Park
4. Times Square, New York City
5. Eiffel Tower
6. Louvre Museum
7. Las Vegas Strip
8. Santa Monica Pier
9. Brooklyn Bridge
10. Vystavka Dostizheniy Narodnogo Khozyaystva
