ACTA Announces Events To Celebrate Travel Agent Day May 3

ACTA has planned a series of events in May in honour of Travel Agent Day, which will be celebrated on May 3. The industry association is acknowledging the troubles and trauma agents have experienced of late, with events designed to offer support.
“The travel industry has been through a lot in the past three years,” ACTA says in a press release, “from working overtime with no guarantee of outcome due to pandemic restrictions, political unrest, severe weather, infrastructure issues, mass schedule changes and cancellations.”
ACTA adds: “Many travel advisors have had to put personal finances on the line and have seen a career and industry they love deeply in distress. It’s no wonder some travel advisors are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and burnt out.”
Healing Time: Health & Wellness Session May 3
ACTA will try to mitigate the situation with a Health & Wellness Session on May 3. The event will feature Dr. Erin Watson, a trained trauma expert and educator with over 20 years of experience developing and leading psycho-educational programs to support mental and emotional health. Dr. Watson will explore ways to start resolving and recovering from the stress incurred through the unprecedented challenges of the past three years.
She’ll put a focus on how to work through the collective trauma, practice sustainable self-care without feeling selfish or compromising work, how to eliminate ‘overwhelm,’ and how to re-engage with a job you love and find fulfillment and joy again. You can register for this session here.
A Grand Prize From Air Canada & Sandals Resorts
Those who register and participate in the health and wellness session on May 3rd will be eligible for the Travel Agent Day grand prize including air for two courtesy of Air Canada and a four-night stay for two at the new Sandals Dunn’s River Resort, Jamaica courtesy of Sandals Resorts.
Business-Building Workshops
On May 9, 10 and 11, ACTA, in partnership with the Jamaica Tourist Board, will offer three one-hour online sessions with travel industry expert and TV host Sandra McLemore, to lay the groundwork for sustainable business success.
McLemore will offer suggestions on how to de-clutter your business space and make room for revenue-generating activities; smart prospecting and client retention strategies, leading to productive lead generation. More information and registration can be found here.
Those who register and participate in the Business Building Workshop will be eligible to win a $250 Visa gift card courtesy of the Jamaica Tourist Board and a $250 VIA Rail travel voucher.
ACTA would love to have all agents as members – you can join here – but all travel agents are welcome to attend these sessions as part of Travel Agent Day celebrations.
