As kids we couldn’t wait to hit the playground for a wild adventure, but we never saw anything like these five extraordinary play parks. They inspire kids to play creatively with extra details that make the average playground seem like a thing of the past. From a fictional character to mystical creatures, explore the wild imaginations of children by sliding swinging and jumping from the cool features woven into these kid-friendly adventure parks.
Copenhagen, Denmark: Brumleby Playground
A bit of quirky elements add to the fun of Brumleby Playground, a kid hotspot that was designed to resemble a commune of Neoclassical styled homes in Copenhagen, Denmark. Nevertheless, the park does take on a funky persona that children as well as adults have all come to enjoy.
Especially since its façade, which is comprised of three houses, allows little ones to climb through windows, scurry down ladders, and hang from building to building. And that’s not all the Brumleby Playground has to offer. From a slide to the monkey bars, the playground’s quirky design is just as inventive as the creative imaginations children already possess — making the Brumleby Playground a place they have always dreamed of going.
Valencia, Spain: Gulliver Park
If you’re a fan of “Gulliver’s Travelers” you’ll appreciate the artistry of this play park, but even if you're just a big kid at heart you'll be infatuated by the way Gulliver’s body transforms into a 70-meter art piece with his hat and sword meticulously tossed at his sides.
The fabled character appears to be lying on the floor in the same manner he is pinned down in the story. Slides and stairways are artistically implanted into his body, allowing visitors of all ages to climb on top of Gulliver’s enormous stature just like the Lilliputians. Even his hair gives children the opportunity to slither down its slide-like curves. Gulliver Park is one of the most unique playgrounds in the world — particularly because playing here resembles turning the pages of the famous book.
Nashville, TN: Nashville Zoo Playground
There’s no doubt that the main attraction at the Nashville Zoo Playground is the jungle gym. Just ask any kid who has played along its landscape.
As a huge centerpiece, kids can not only run all around but play inside of its dark interior. The Nashville Zoo Playground is the icing on the cake of a day spent amongst the wildlife. And by the smiles on the kid’s faces running all around the park’s dynamic facade, it is one of Nashville’s best places where kids are free to be themselves.
Australia: St Kilda Adventure Playground
You’d want to relive your childhood too once you have visited the St Kilda Adventure Playground. That’s because it is jam-packed with so many thrills that excitement is always ringing through the air.
Not only are they free to touch everything and let out their inhibitions, they can play basketball, go go-kart racing, slide down a tunnel, play house and jump on trampolines — not to leave out the swings and pirate ship also speckled on the playground. If you’re looking for an extraordinary play park that offers much more than the typical experience, St Kilda Adventure Playground has to all.
California: La Laguna Playground
Once again it is all about the quirks to get the child’s attention, and what better way to do accomplish this task than by decorating it with many imaginative characters including Flipper, Ozzie the Octopus as well as dolphins.
To Californians, La Laguna is also known as Dinosaur Park, and understandably so because of the magical ambiance that floats into the atmosphere. If your child is bored with the typical swing and slide routine then enjoy a day amid California’s cool breezes- where the park's amenities morph into dragons and other mystical creatures to tap into a child’s wild imagination.
