Update: April 23, 2019 at 2:40 p.m. ET
In addition to announcing the date for the opening of reservations for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, Disney officials revealed there will be a four-hour time limit for guests during the initial soft opening period.
According to Orange County Register, travelers who booked a stay at the Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel or Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel will have the chance to secure a Galaxy’s Edge reservation for their group’s entire stay.
Guests will have to leave the Star Wars themed land at the end of their four-hour reservation period, and if they leave early, they will not be permitted to return.
The wait is nearly over to experience Disney's highly anticipated Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.
Reservations to visit the new themed land at Disneyland Resort will be available on Disney Travel News and Disneyland.com beginning May 2 at 11 a.m. ET, it was announced Monday.
Travelers will need to have a Disney Account on Disneyland.com in order to register for a reservation.
Scheduled to open May 31 at Disneyland in Southern California and August 29 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Central Florida, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will require both a reservation and theme park admission between May 31 and June 23, 2019.
Guests will no longer need a special reservation beginning June 24.
Guests who have booked a stay at one of the three Disneyland Resort hotels between May 31 and June 23 will receive a designated reservation to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during their stay.
Last month, SFGate.com reported that Disneyland's three official hotels—Disneyland Hotel, Disney's Paradise Pier and Disney's Grand Californian Hotel—were completely sold out ahead of the May 31 opening.
However, some of the park's partner hotels farther away still had some availability at the time of the report.
