Sunwing is celebrating new flights to four great sun destinations; Miami, Los Cabos, Cienfuegos and Grenada.
The first Sunwing flight from Toronto to Grenada landed on Sunday. It marks the first of this season’s new flight service from Toronto to Grenada, operating weekly every Sunday until April 21, 2019, inclusive.
“We are delighted to provide our travellers in the Greater Toronto Area with a new sought-after destination from Toronto Pearson Airport,” said Sunwing’s President of Tour Operations, Andrew Dawson. “The island of Grenada is a welcome addition to our expanding roster of destinations and with newly announced plans for our hotel partners, Royalton Luxury Resorts, to open their first resort on the island in late 2019, this flight service comes at an exciting time”.
Vacationers who choose to book their Grenada vacation with Sunwing can Vacation Better at an array of top-rated resorts. Perched on a picturesque clifftop, Starfish Grenada overlooks two breathtaking white-sand beaches. Guests can snorkel in crystal clear waters with vibrant marine life and enjoy additional complimentary water sports. Another great resort option in Grenada is Coyaba Beach Resort located on the coveted white-sand shores of Grand Anse Beach. Travellers can taste authentic Grenadian cuisine at the resort’s two delicious restaurants and explore the nearby capital of St. George’s.
The first Sunwing flight since 2013 from Toronto to Cienfuegos, Cuba, departed from Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday. The flight marks the beginning of the tour operator’s seasonal flights to Cienfuegos this winter, departing every Monday until April 22, 2019, inclusive. Sunwing is anticipated to be the only leisure carrier to offer a direct flight service from Toronto to Cienfuegos this year.
“Our return to Cienfuegos highlights our commitment to providing Canadian travellers with the widest range of flights and destinations in Cuba than any other tour operator,” Dawson said.

The first-ever Sunwing flight from Kelowna, British Columbia to Los Cabos, Mexico departed from Kelowna International Airport on Dec. 15, 2018. This flight marks the first of this season’s new weekly direct flight service from Kelowna to Los Cabos, departing every Saturday until April 20, 2019, inclusive.
With the addition of this new flight service, residents of Kelowna and southern British Columbia can now look forward to three convenient choices of vacation destinations including Los Cabos, Cancun and Varadero.
“Travellers will be able to enjoy two destinations in one in Los Cabos, with the lively nightlife of Cabo San Lucas and the vibrant art scene of San Jose del Cabo offering something different for travellers of all interests,” Sunwing’s Dawson said.
On top of all that, the first Sunwing flight from Ottawa to Miami departed from Ottawa International Airport on Saturday. This flight marks the first of this season’s new weekly direct flights from Ottawa to Miami, departing every Saturday until March 30, 2019, inclusive. Sunwing is anticipated to be the only leisure carrier to offer direct flights from the Canadian capital to Miami this winter.
“We’re excited to be offering our customers in Ottawa even more options for their winter escape this year with the addition of Miami as a new flight route,” said Reg Mendes, Vice President of USA and Cruises for Sunwing. “This new direct flight service will offer Ottawa travellers more ways to Vacation Better in Florida both on land and at sea with Sunwing vacation and cruise packages and convenient transfers to PortMiami from Miami International Airport.”
