‘Our Way. Your Way. The Baja Way’ reads Los Cabos’ new tourism slogan. An open invitation for visitors to choose-their-own-adventure and leverage all the destination has to offer. Known for its dramatic coastline, beautiful beaches, diverse culinary scene and luxury hotel offerings, Los Cabos continues to climb the ranks as one of Mexico’s most popular destinations.
“Los Cabos is the fastest growing tourism destination in Mexico with more then 3 million tourists visiting every year. The Canadian market has been growing steadily in the past few years. Currently it’s up 18% on arrivals for 2019 which is pretty astonishing,” shared Monica Garcia, VP of Jesson and Company Communications. "Most destinations in Mexico are either not growing or they are in negative number so this is definitely great news.”
As the destination’s popularity continues to grow so does its reputation of offering the best of the best. In order to keep up with the increase in tourism large investments have been made in the area giving way to numerous new restaurants, outdoor adventure programs, and of course new luxury hotels.
“Los Cabos is the ‘luxury Mexican destination’. Out of all the Mexican destinations Los Cabos is the most high end. Tourism grew 16%, that is 1.5 times the overall pace of Mexico. Over the past 7 years they have added 6,000 rooms, which is a huge number and there has been investments in hotels of over 1 billion USD,” imparted Mrs. Garcia.
One such opening of note is the new Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos that opened in 2018. A AAA, Five Diamond rewarded brand, Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos is a luxury, all-inclusive, adult-only hotel where each room comes with private butler service. The Los Cabos beachfront property is the brand’s second location and features 373 lavish, ocean view guestrooms outfitted with Bvlgari toiletries. Guests can also take advantage of 12 restaurants on the property ranging in flavors and cuisines, 4 outdoor pools, a world class spa with hydrotherapy pools, and a fitness center that offers both Pilates and spinning classes. Agents can earn money on top of commission when booking clients at Le Blanc via the hotels ‘Cash is King’ booking bonus program.
“One thing that I think definitely [makes Le Blanc] stands out as a luxury all-inclusive is that we are stepping up our game in terms of what we offer from a wellness standpoint, culinary offerings and from the experiences you are going to have… We are stepping up our game and looking at properties like The Four Seasons and competing with that while making it more accessible because you’re leaving your wallet at home,” shared Cessie Cerrato, Senior Director of Public Relations for Palace Resorts.
Further, 50 million dollars has also been invested into the new international terminal at Los Cabos International Airport and the number of weekly flights from Canada have increased going into the fall by WestJet and Swoop.
“Currently there are 11 gateways from Canada to Los Cabos…Through WestJet and Swoop, there are two new flights coming in November from the west, Edmonton once a week and Winnipeg twice a week,” relayed Garcia.
With all this in mind Los Cabos is definitely a destination to keep top of mind when booking clients this fall/winter as it is sure not to disappoint!
