Abu Dhabi Tourism is putting a renewed emphasis on the Canadian market.
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) is expanding its key market focus with the announcement of the first-ever dedicated visit to Canada as part of its summer North American roadshow. Reinforcing its commitment to highlight the United Arab Emirates as a world-class tourism destination, the upcoming roadshow also marks the first time that DCT Abu Dhabi will partner with Dubai Tourism Board to promote the region.
Joined in North America by some of Abu Dhabi’s most important tourism stakeholders, including Etihad Airways, Jumeirah Group, Yas Experiences, and Arabian Adventures, DCT Abu Dhabi will meet with an exclusive group of travel agents and tour operators in the following cities throughout North America:
June 25: Vancouver
June 26: Montreal
June 27: Ottawa
June 28: Toronto
August 6: New York
August 7: Washington, DC
August 8: Chicago
August 9: Los Angeles
August 10: Orange County
Promoting Abu Dhabi’s dynamic experiences to increase awareness and impact visitation from the Canadian and US markets, the roadshow will highlight the destination’s robust and ever-expanding tourism and cultural attractions. Throughout the summer, travel trade partners will have the opportunity to experience a taste of Abu Dhabi’s legendary hospitality while learning about the destination, including the recent opening of Louvre Abu Dhabi, an architectural and cultural project which has met with worldwide praise; the upcoming debut of Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi; the influx of new hotel openings from soon-to-launch Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort to recently opened Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi and the city’s retail, entertainment, and culinary experiences as well as the expansive calendar of annual festivals.
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi conserves and promotes the heritage and culture of Abu Dhabi emirate and leverages them in the development of a world-class, sustainable destination of distinction that enriches the lives of visitors and residents alike.
The Department manages the emirate’s tourism sector and markets the destination internationally through a wide range of activities aimed at attracting visitors and investment. Its policies, plans and programmes relate to the preservation of heritage and culture, including protecting archaeological and historical sites and to developing museums, including the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Zayed National Museum and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.
The Department of Culture and Tourism supports intellectual and artistic activities and cultural events to nurture a rich cultural environment and honour the emirate’s heritage. A key role played by the Department is to create synergy in the destination’s development through close co-ordination with its wide-ranging stakeholder base.
