Presidents & Politics with American Queen Steamboat Company

As much of North America ponders what the continent might look like if The Donald succeeds in his bid to become president of the United States, Canadians are poking a little fun at the potential of American refugees who might start clamouring for Canadian residency.
Still, while Mexico may need to contend with a walled off border, Canada, it seems, is safe for the moment. Why? Because Canada is “not our biggest problem” according to Trump. High praise from the man who isn’t afraid of flinging a little mud.
As many ask if Trump could possibly become the next Republican candidate for American president, the definitive answer will roll out from July 18-21 in Cleveland, Ohio during the Republican (GOP) National Convention. And just as the convention gets underway, American Queen Steamboat Company will hold its own in-depth exploration of the American presidency on the Presidents & Politics sailing, which departs July 17 fro Cincinnati, Ohio.
As political events unfold in real-time, the Presidents & Politics cruise visits historic sites and lesser-known American national treasures that played a key role in shaping American history and its political landscape. Not just an exploration of the history of politics, however, the cruise also features several respected historians who will speak on topics such as past presidents and upcoming elections.
Among the guest speakers, noted historian Dr. Michael Nelson will explore how individual presidents have helped shape the executive office. Dr. Nelson, who has published more than 25 books on the presidency and politics, will offer several lectures during the cruise.
Meanwhile, noted “portrayal artist” George Buss will deliver his critically acclaimed rendition of Abraham Lincoln. Buss, who has been featured on C-span, the Illinois Channel and also in numerous publications, including Smithsonian magazine, will present several programs, including a “Presidential Press Conference with Mr. Lincoln.”
And to lighten things up a bit, renowned political satirist, Mark Russell will present commentary on current events, while helping passengers stay abreast of the goings on at the Republican Convention. Russell spent 30 years as the host of the “Mark Russell Comedy Specials” and is best known for his stand-up comedy which pokes light-hearted fun at the political process.
Ports of call on the nine-day cruise include Louisville, Brandenburg, Henderson, and Paducah, Ky.; Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and Alton, Ill.
Through April 30, Canadian residents can enjoy special savings on this cruise with rates starting from just U$ 1,499 per person for an inside cabin and U$ 2,499 for a Superior Outside Stateroom with Private Veranda. View the complete itinerary at www.americanqueensteamboatcompany.com.
