TravelPulse Quebec recently spoke with The Original group's director of marketing, Uriel Guttiérez, to find out more about what awaits customers interested in adults only travel.
With two clothing-optional hotels in the Riviera Maya, the Desire Riviera Maya Resort and the Desire Riviera Maya Pearl Resort, in addition to the 'bikini top optional' Temptation Cancun Resort, the Original Group, chaired by Rodrigo De La Pena, has the wind in its sails.
During our recent visit to the Temptation Cancun Resort, the occupancy rate was almost 100%, according to the property's marketing team, and there is a growing interest in this type of product.

"There is a huge market for this type of sexy, adult-only hotels we offer," said Uriel Guttiérez in an interview. "In the United States alone, there are approximately 300 million people and 70% of them are adults. So there is a huge market for this type of product and every year there is more and more acceptance towards these resorts."
The main international markets for Temptation and Desire products are the United States, Europe, and Canada.
New Temptation Hotel in Punta Cana
Building on the success of its operations in Cancun, the Original Group intends to open a new Temptation hotel that will follow the same ‘bikini top optional’ concept, this time in Punta Cana. It will be the first breakthrough for the group in the Dominican Republic. Intended for adults only, the hotel will be called the Temptation Grand Miches Resort and will have approximately 400 rooms, two pools, seven restaurants, and seven bars. Construction will begin next year and the 5-star property is slated to open in 2021.
The "Topless" Concept Takes to the Sea
Fans of the Temptation topless concept will also be delighted to learn that concept will be transferred to the sea in 2020, with Original Group’s first Temptation cruise programs in the Caribbean.
Departing from Tampa, Florida on February 13, and the seven-day cruise will take place on the Brillance of the Seas by Royal Caribbean, with a planned itinerary consisting of the Western Caribbean. Several of the 1,000 cabins available on the charter liner are already been sold.
The Original Group will also organize other cruises in Europe with the Desire brand.

"We have already done three cruises in Europe with the Desire concept, and we will add three more in 2020-2021,” said Mr. Guttiérez. The first Temptation cruise will take place in February 2020; it will be the first cruise of the Original Group in the Caribbean. It will be followed by a second Temptation cruise to the Caribbean in February 2021,” said Guttiérez, adding that Temptation cruises will be a little more daring than the resort itself.
“Temptation cruises will include a RedRoom, a closed and decorated area where guests and couples can fulfill their fantasies. Organize workshops for couples, on how to please your man during a blowjob for example, or how to reach your partner, will also be available. These features are unique to Temptation cruises and are not available at the resort.”
While Temptation cruises are aimed at a relatively young (39-50 years) party clientele while the Desire brand is intended for more mature couples, he said.
“The difference between the two types of cruises is that Temptation cruises welcome couples and singles, and offer an endless party atmosphere with sexy and daring activities. Desire cruises on the other hand are reserved for couples only. There is also a lot of partying, but not as much as on Temptation cruises. We have game rooms, workshops, and a more sensual and elegant atmosphere. Customers are between 45 and 59 years old and are more mature and wealthy than those of Temptation. For example, a cabin on one of our Desire cruises costs USD 10.5K per couple, while a cabin on a Temptation cruise costs USD 4.4K per couple. ”
