Ready to set sail for new adventures next year? Silversea Cruises has launched its 2018 itineraries, which make stops at more than 1,000 locales around the world, including 300 destinations that will be new to the luxury cruise company.
“At Silversea, we don’t believe that ‘bigger is better,’ in fact we believe and deliver the complete opposite,” said Roberto Martinoli, CEO at Silversea Cruises. “A belief perfectly illustrated by our commitment to smaller, more intimate ships that clearly respond to the desires of our guests that tend to favour a refined and understated elegance.”
In total, Silversea Cruises fleet, which has recently undergone the largest refurbishment investment in cruise line’s history, consists of nine ships. Jointly the ships will call upon 130 nations and more than 1,000 destinations around the world. Passengers who enjoy a more traditional experience can sail with Silversea’s Classic fleet, which makes calls at nearly 400 locations, and more intrepid adventures will have access to more than 600 destinations through the line’s Expedition fleet.
Passengers sailing to Ocean Cruise destinations in 2018 will have access to numerous UNESCO World Heritage sites, ranging from the gorgeous Italian Amalfi Coast to the location ‘where the dragon descends into the sea’ at Halong Bay, Vietnam.
In 2018, the Silver Cloud will start her career as an ice-class expedition ship after having undergone an extensive refurbishment and conversion. The Silver Discoverer will explore many new Asian destinations in Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, the Philippines and Japan.
“As the company that introduced Expedition cruising to the luxury market, Silversea continues to innovate and over-deliver on destinations and experiences, and remains the pioneer in this regard,” said Martinoli. “2018 will see our expedition ships call at over 250 new destinations and will be the inaugural calendar year for Silver Cloud in the expedition fleet following her conversion, making her the most luxurious cruise ship for expeditions.”
