Hapag-Lloyd is boosting options for fitness and fashion fans and adding new visits to Japan.
The luxurious Hapag-Lloyd EUROPA 2 catalogue for the 2018/2020 cruising season has been released, and features new Tokyo trips, art cruises and much more.
“The Hapag-Lloyd Cruises ship EUROPA 2 will set sail for new and familiar waters in the 2018/2020 season,” officials said. “The premieres include Japanese ports, such as Ishigaki and Tokyo, which the EUROPA 2 will visit in the forthcoming year.”
As host to the 2020 Summer Olympic Games, Tokyo has been garnering considerable attention in travel circles. I don’t have an exact count, but I'm seeing more and more cruise itineraries and expanded travel opportunities that will touch down in Tokyo and Japan in the next 24 months.
The EUROPA 2, which was again awarded a five-star-plus rating in the Berlitz Cruise Guide 2018, will be heading to Japan for the first time. The itinerary for one of the two Japan cruises on board the EUROPA 2, includes the metropolis of Tokyo, Toba (on the Shima Peninsula), Naha (the largest city in the Japanese prefecture of Okinawa) and Ishigaki (Japan’s southernmost city).
One offering is a “Far-East dream destination cruise” from Tokyo to Singapore, May 8-May 26, 2019 (18 days), from $11,490 per person, cruise only.
Hapag-Lloyd said other cruising areas for the upcoming seasons include Oceania, the Western Mediterranean, Western and Northern Europe, the Canary Islands, South America and the Caribbean. They also have a number of speciality cruises.
“Guests with an interest in fashion and art will really be in their element with fashion2sea and art2sea in 2020. In addition, the IN2BALANCE team will help sports enthusiasts to find their inner harmony,” officials said.
An entire cruise dedicated to fashion returns in Summer 2019 with fashion2sea. The EUROPA 2 will travel from Lisbon to Hamburg, visiting cities with true style. Exclusive collaborations with renowned designers, glamorous fashion shows, new collections, a pop-up store, a beauty lounge, make-up workshops, and a fashion dinner are all trademarks of this well-established fashion format at sea.
Guests on the art2sea cruise from Monte Carlo to Civitavecchia (Rome) in spring 2020 can pursue their interest in art. The focus of this cruise is on old masters and modern art. Hapag-Lloyd Cruises is offering this cruise for art lovers, in partnership with the renowned art magazine Weltkunst.
On board, guests can look forward to lectures and discussions with knowledgeable experts, while ashore there will be guided visits to galleries, exhibitions and museums such as the world-famous Uffizi Gallery in Florence, one of the world’s great cities. One of the fashion2sea cruises will go from Lisbon to Hamburg, August 7-19, 2019 (12 days), from $7,580 per person, cruise only.
For the IN2BALANCE cruises, renowned experts and trainers will present innovative training methods and the relaxation techniques of the Far East on selected cruise itineraries. The latest findings in nutritional science will also be revealed. The team of coaches includes the three-time Olympic champion and two-time world champion Maria Höfl-Riesch, Olympic and world champion Fabian Hambüchen, sports scientist and health expert for sustainable lifestyle change and healthy living Dr. Michael Despeghel, top chef, author and former nutrition coach for the German national football team Holger Stromberg, and the most successful female boxer of all time, Regina Halmich. On board, guests train with the coaches from the IN2BALANCE team to improve their fitness, flexibility, strength and concentration.
