Forget Cuba, travel to Canada’s arctic region will be H-O-T this summer season. And for a limited time it is also on sale.
Adventure Canada has rolled out a 30 per cent discount for travellers booking the Heart of the Arctic voyage aboard the 198-passenger Ocean Endeavour, in a category 6 cabin or higher.
Special offers aren’t necessarily a daily occurrence with Adventure Canada, and this one could net travellers a savings of up to US$ 4,618 per person, depending on the cabin category booked.
The journey, scheduled for July 11-23, starts in Kangerlussuaq, Greenland before sailing on to Nunavut and eventually ending in Nunavik, Northern Quebec. Passengers will enjoy the Arctic during its summer bloom season, while sailing into some of the world’s tallest and longest Arctic fjord’s. Along the way, there’s sure to be plenty of polar bears, whales, walrus and musk oxen; and of course the unsettling experience of sunshine at midnight.
“Our Heart of the Arctic expedition is by far our most community- and art-focused Arctic expedition,” says Cedar Swan, Adventure Canada CEO. “The vast natural beauty of the landscapes juxtaposed with community visits and exposure to creators and their creations makes this expedition stay with you long after you return home. It’s an experience we are very proud of.”
Among the community visits, passengers can watch the famed Inuit stone carvers at work in Kinngait.
Expedition costs include passage aboard the 198-passenger Ocean Endeavour, all shipboard meals and all Zodiac excursions as well as pre-departure materials, special access permits, park fees and an expert team of expedition staff. Fine print details like taxes, educational programs, workshop fees, evening entertainment, guided activities, sightseeing and community visits and port fees are also included.
Prefer to travel solo? Adventure Canada is offering a free single supplement and singles even get their own cabin (depending on cabin category booked.)
