American Queen Steamboat Company, operator of the American Queen and American Empress, reported record-setting bookings for the inaugural season of the new American Duchess, scheduled to debut on the Mississippi River in June 2017. As the first and only all-suite vessel with lofts on the river, the purpose-built boutique paddlewheeler will offer the river cruiser an intimate experience for overnight cruising through America’s heartland.
“There has been tremendous word-of-mouth support from agents and guests alike as they clamor for space on the American Duchess’ first season on the Mississippi River,” shares Ted Sykes, American Queen Steamboat Company president and COO. “With a busy first eight weeks of selling, we’re looking forward to a successful season with the newest member of our fleet.”
The American Duchess will feature a generous space ratio showcased by three 550 sq. ft. Owner’s Suites, four 550 sq. ft. Loft Suites (a U.S. riverboat first), two 450 sq. ft. Deluxe Suites; in addition to spacious Veranda Suites and Interior Suites. The new vessel will deliver the highest standards of service, entertainment and shore excursions that customers have come to expect from the cruise line, along with enhanced pre-cruise hotel nights at iconic boutique properties. Single-seating dining will be available in two venues, The Grand Dining Room and The Grill Room, showcasing regionally inspired, epicurean cuisine tailored from the finest local ingredients.
Offering the most inclusive river cruise experience in North America, fares begin at an affordable $1,499 per guest based on double occupancy.
