As passenger cabins continue to evolve, cruise lines are utilizing space to create massive staterooms with innovative amenities and luxurious décor. Now, travelers can book suites, lofts, and villas with butler service, private balconies, and exclusive access to lounges and restaurants. These eight fabulous staterooms are redefining traditional cruise ship accommodations:
Owner’s Suite on Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ Europa 2
Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ newest vessel, the 400-passenger, Europa 2 sails around the world in 2015 with bookable sections ranging from the Caribbean to Antarctica. The five-star ship has two owner’s suites with a 1,066-square-foot living area plus an additional 161-square-foot balcony, a walk-in closet, and floor-to-ceiling windows. Other perks include butler service, a day bed in the bathroom next to the whirlpool, and a steam room shower.
Yachts of Seabourn’s Wintergarden Suite
It’s difficult to go wrong when choosing a stateroom on Seabourn’s newest all-suite vessel, the Seabourn Quest, but the Wintergarden Suite has one added perk that puts it over the top: a glass-enclosed solarium with a tub and day bed for absolute sea bliss. The 1,097-square-foot room also features a pantry with a wet bar, two flat-screen televisions, dining for six, and an invitation to visit the bridge.
Royal Caribbean’s Royal Lofts
Royal Caribbean’s newest floating city, the Quantum of the Seas, is fitted with the legendary loft suites made famous by its sister ships, the Allure and Oasis of the Seas. The two-level, 1,640-square-foot Royal Loft Suite dwarfs the other spacious options, and includes three balconies, two whirlpools, and separate living areas that accommodate up to six guests.
The Royal Suite on Uniworld’s S.S. Antoinette
When it first began navigating the waterways of Europe in 2011, the S.S. Antoinette introduced a new level of luxury to river cruise accommodations. The Royal Suite offer timeless, regal décor, 391 square feet of space, marble bathrooms, butler service, and a full open-air balcony that transforms into an enclosed glass conservatory with the touch of a button.

Sanctuary Ananda’s Owner’s Suites
The luxury adventure company, Sanctuary Retreats, debuted the Sanctuary Ananda on the Ayeyarwady River in November 2014, and the all-suite vessel is already turning heads. The ship has an onboard spa and gym, as well as lush silks, polished teak, and elegant textiles in every suite. Travelers can explore Myanmar in an owner’s suite that boasts 721 square feet, a veranda with sun lounges, monsoon shower, and added services such as a private guide and butler service.
Celebrity’s Reflection Suite
In 2012, Celebrity introduced the Reflection, another Solstice-class ship with unique amenities like a lawn club and art installations that showcase the company’s innovative spirit. The new Reflection Suites mark the fleet’s first two-bedroom suites, boasting 1,636 square feet, private verandah’s with rain shower tubs, and butler service. Its defining characteristic is the sleek sea-view bathrooms with glass windows that extend over the edge of the ship.

The Haven, Norwegian’s exclusive key-access lounge area, offers guests a swimming pool, cabana lounges, personalized service, and a private restaurant. This-ship-within-ship is accessible to passengers booking cabins on several vessels, including the sprawling three-bedroom villa on the Norwegian Gem that includes butler service and a private garden with a hot tub.
Delfin Amazon Cruises’ Deluxe Master Suites
Plying the Amazon River, the intimate Delfin 1 has just four suites that feature three-times daily cabin service, natural wood floors, and floor-to-ceiling windows granting 180-degree, panoramic views. The Deluxe Master Suites have 680 square feet – nearly half of which encompasses a private terrace with cool water plunge pools that are unique to the river cruise industry.
