Enterprise Rent-A-Car locations across Canada plan to hire 500 college and university graduates into the renowned Enterprise Management Training program and 100 interns into the Management Internship program this year. And for the first time, ties are not required.
“This more flexible dress code is in line with our evolving work environment and represents our commitment to our employees, whose feedback prompted this change,” said Shelley Roither, Vice President of Human Resources at Enterprise Holdings. “The new dress code will enable our teams to take care of their customers while still maintaining a professional image.”
Enterprise Holdings Inc. operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car brand, as well as National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car, through its integrated global network of independent regional subsidiaries and franchises. These regional subsidiaries employ 100,000 worldwide, including 5,400 across Canada.
In fiscal year 2017 alone, Enterprise Holdings grew total revenues 6.5 percent to $22.3 billion and expanded its network to include 9,900 fully staffed neighbourhood and airport locations in more than 90 countries throughout the world. This includes 750 locations in Canada. Enterprise’s total revenues have more than doubled during the last decade along with overall fleet size – now nearly 1.9 million vehicles, including 98,000 vehicles in Canada. Enterprise Holdings’ total economic impact reached approximately $3 billion in Canada in 2017.
To support this growth, Enterprise branch offices hire thousands of college-educated, career-oriented men and women into the Enterprise Management Training program each year. This program teaches employees how to run a business, empower teams and provide excellent face-to-face customer service. Other hallmarks of the program include extensive training in a wide range of business skills, including profit and loss management, business-to-business marketing and sales, and operational logistics.
Over the years, Enterprise has been widely recognized for employment and recruiting practices in Canada, including receiving a North American Candidate Experience Award from Talent Board; a TalentEgg National Campus Recruitment Excellence Award for Best Grad Program; and a Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE) Excellence in Innovation Award for its careers site. Additionally, Enterprise is a multi-year award recipient of the “50 Best Employers in Canada” by the Globe and Mail Report on Business magazine.
Most recently, Enterprise has been recognized as one of The Best Places to Work in Canada by the popular job-finding site Indeed and is the only car rental company named one of the best employers in the Greater Toronto Area by Mediacorp Canada Inc., in its 2018 Greater Toronto’s Top Employers competition.
