Summer travellers, take note. Sunwing Airlines will be moving operations at Toronto Pearson International Airport. Currently located at the airport’s Terminal 1, the airline is moving to Terminal 3, effective May 1, 2016.
The airline expects that the new terminal will offer more conveniences for its international passengers. With a smaller footprint than Terminal 1, Terminal 3 requires less walking by passengers, which is especially ideal for families travelling with young children or seniors.
“This is an exciting time for Sunwing Airlines to find a new home within Terminal 3,” said Mark Williams, president of Sunwing Airlines. “Considering the expansive upgrades and ease of access granted by the Terminal 3 Enhancement Project, we are confident that this transition will prove to be a convenient choice for our passengers.”
The Terminal 3 Enhancement Project begins in June 2016, and when complete, the terminal will offer an extensive duty free shopping area as well as a variety of coffee shops, fast-food outlets, sit-down restaurants and convenience stores. The terminal also offers free Wi-Fi, a health product kiosk and banking services.

In addition to its 3,400-space parking garage, Terminal 3 is easily reachable by public transportation. It is connected to the Terminal Link train in Terminal 1, so passengers can easily catch the Union-Pearson Express train to downtown and beyond. The TTC Airport Rocket, an express bus to Kipling Subway Station, also frequently stops at Terminal 3.
During the transition period, Sunwing Airlines, in partnership with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, is rolling out a campaign to keep passengers informed and to assist them in getting to the right place.
