Maybe it’s Turkish Airlines’ 75-inch, lie-flat seating or maybe it’s the first-class “restaurant in the sky,” but whatever the reason, business travellers are increasingly asking for business class seating on flights between Toronto and Istanbul, and Turkish Airlines Canada is answering the call.
The airline has announced that it has expanded its business class seating on all flights between Toronto and Istanbul. The cabin configuration which used to accommodate 28 passengers has jumped to 49 seats, a 75 per cent increase on every Boeing 777 aircraft flying from Toronto to Istanbul.
"We are very pleased for the opportunity to provide more Canadians the true Turkish Airlines experience which is best demonstrated with our Business Class product, " said Zafer Bolukbasi, General Manager, Toronto. “The change will allow us to truly demonstrate what the Turkish Airlines flight experience is all about: comfort, luxurious travel, delicious food and traditional Turkish hospitality."
The seat increase comes just as the airline has rolled out enhanced options for its business class fliers. In particular, executive passengers can now enjoy new, restaurant-quality service and a candlelight dinner on porcelain dishware, served by the airlines' "Flying Chefs.”
Seats in business class seats fully recline, stretching 75 inches. Passengers also have access to a power outlet, a reading light and privacy screens. Entertainment options include music from more than 850 CDs, audio books selections, 340 movies, and 460 different TV programs, including live programming.
Business Class passengers may also access to the award-winning CIP Lounge at the Istanbul Atatürk Airport.
Turkish Airlines officially launched direct flights between Toronto and Istanbul in 2009. As of 2016, there are six direct flights operating from Toronto each week.
