Original story:
Mexican LCC Interjet will begin flying to Canada for the first time, introducing new nonstop service from Montreal this summer. On July 13, 2017, Interjet will start nonstop service between Montréal's Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport and Mexico City's Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juárez, as well as between Montréal and Cancun International Airport, with three flights per week on each route.
"Our unique brand of lower fares with free checked bags using our Priority fare, more legroom between seats and great service has been embraced everywhere we fly," said José Luis Garza, Interjet's CEO. "And Interjet is now in Canada to offer more choices and competition between the Canadian market and Mexico," he added.
Interjet's Montréal services will be operated using Airbus A320 aircraft with 150 seats. The initial schedule will be for three frequencies per week at convenient departure times.
Interjet's Canada-Mexico flights will operate Monday, Thursday and Sunday as follows:
- Interjet flight 4O2811 will depart Montreal at 11:30 PM and arrive in Mexico City at 2:50 AM
- Interjet flight 4O2810 will depart Mexico City at 1:15 AM and arrive in Montreal at 7:10 AM
- Interjet flight AO2821 will depart Montreal at 8:30 AM and arrive in Cancun at 12 noon
- Interjet flight 4O2820 will depart Cancun at 3:35 PM and arrive in Montreal at 9:00 PM
Interjet is a member of IATA under the carrier code 4O/837, but it is unknown at this time whether Interjet participates, or intends to participate, in BSP Canada.
