Air Transat Surprises 21 Pax with Free Tickets
Airlines & Airports Brian Simpson November 16, 2017

This past Tuesday, November 14, the date of the company’s 30th birthday, Air Transat surprised 21 lucky passengers on board flights by holding random draws on all 21 of the airline’s flights out of Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal and several European cities. And each winner of the draw was surprised with a free pair of tickets to fly to any of the airline’s destinations around the world.
The surprise draws were an exciting way to mark the anniversary date of Air Transat’s inaugural flight from Montreal to Acapulco on November 14, 1987, which carried 360 passengers on board the airline’s first aircraft, a Lockheed L-1011 (Wow, remember those?).
“As vacationers’ travel companion par excellence for 30 years, Transat knows that the idea of an upcoming holiday sparks an exceptional feeling of happiness and anticipation.” read a release from Transat. “It is proud to have been able once again to fulfil its brand promise: brightening travellers’ everyday with the joy of vacations!”

Earlier this week, during a celebration at the company’s hangar in Montreal, Transat unveiled new livery for its fleet in front of 375 tourism and business partners and guests.
Throughout 2017, Transat has been celebrating its 30th anniversary by offering a variety of surprises and special activities to vacationers and partners, particularly travel agencies with its Surprise Dates contest, and its 5,000 employees in North America and Europe.
