Air Canada’s Toronto Global Sales team hit the streets of Toronto last Wednesday, May 17, surprising and delighting customers while driving awareness of new Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge destinations, celebrating the airline’s new livery, and showcasing many of their premium products and services.
“I am very proud of this team and of what is happening with Air Canada…just coming off a very successful Q1, we have turned in 3 of 4 years of profitability.” said Steve Goodfellow, Air Canada’s director of sales in Toronto. “We have so much to be happy about…our planes are being rebranded with our new livery, [and] we will soon debut new employee uniforms by designer Christopher Bates for all airport and inflight personnel. It’s [agency blitz] all about ‘flying the flag’…and identifying AC to Canada’s culture, spirit and colours.”
“Air Canada has the most amazing clients and I am super happy to be part of this great Air Canada Team.” said Jamie Fox, senior account manager in Toronto. “Our team today is hitting the streets of Toronto to create awareness of our new Air Canada routes, our new aircraft, celebrate our new livery, and have a chance to make a surprise connection with our valued customers.”
One product Air Canada was keen to drive awareness of was their Altitude Kids Skyriders club, for kids two through 12 years old, a program geared to making flying “an exciting and magical experience for children”.
Parents can register their children for free online at the Air Canada Altitude Skyriders website, and kids will receive a kit containing a welcome letter, an exclusive Skyriders luggage tag, and a logbook to chart their flights. Then, each time the child travels, they will earn printable “badges of honour” online to commemorate special milestones or achievements, such as their first flight or new destinations they’ve visited.

The team was also keen to highlight the numerous new routes Air Canada has launched or will launch shortly. Air Canada launched 28 new markets in 2016 and is launching many more in 2017, including 11 overseas routes and seven new routes into the United States, as Air Canada continues to develop their international route network and Toronto ‘superhub’.
Some of Air Canada’s new destinations from Toronto include Reykjavik, Mumbai, Berlin, Belize City and St. Vincent, along with San Antonio, Savannah and Memphis in the U.S.
From Montreal, Air Canada has launched, or will launch, service to Tel Aviv, Algiers, Marseille, Reykjavik, Shanghai, Lima, and Dallas.
And from Vancouver, Air Canada continues to grow, offering flights to Taipei, London (Gatwick), Nagoya, Frankfurt, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and Orlando, including seasonal service to Melbourne later this year.
“As we continue to grow our network, these new markets allow our travel trade partners to sell new international destinations to their customers.” said a statement from the Air Canada East Sales team. “That is why today, we are visiting many of our travel agency partners to spread the AC word and reiterate to them that fantastic product and destinations AC offers. Our travel agency partners continue to be such a vital distribution partner and they are a huge contributor to our current success at AC.
