What’s black and white and red all over?
Air Canada aircraft will soon be sporting a brand-new look, with a bold black and white and white design, created to enhance the Air Canada logo, which is returning to the tail of the aeroplane after 24 years.
All 300 aircraft in Air Canada’s fleet will eventually be repainted to carry the new look, which the airline says was inspired by Canada and its changing seasons, its wildlife and its First Nations people. The first aircraft to feature the new look are three Boeing 787 Dreamliners
“Air Canada’s new livery signals a pivotal inflection point in our 80-year history,” said Benjamin Smith, president, passenger airlines. “On the occasion of Canada’s 150th anniversary year, with our new livery, new uniforms for our employees, the award-winning international cabin standard introduced with the launch of our B787 aircraft, and enhanced onboard offerings, the future Air Canada represents the strength of our nation and the future-looking spirit of our airline.”
In addition to the new livery, Air Canada will also be introducing new employee uniforms, in charcoal grey and black, by Canadian designer Christopher Bates. The uniforms were designed to complement the natural tones and red accents utilized in the new interior cabin design of Air Canada's international fleet. All uniformed personnel, approximately two-thirds of Air Canada’s 30,000 employees, will wear the new uniforms, starting later this year.
Guests can also look forward to new onboard menu choices, including Lavazza premium Italian coffee, Toronto-based Dufflet Pastries' pumpkin spice loaf (on flights to Europe), Quebec artisanal bread and cheeses, and new wine options, including a vintage from Vineland Estates Winery in Ontario’s Niagara region.
