Dover is the capital of Delaware; it is a city rich with history, and was first founded by William Penn. It is also known for its shopping, NASCAR racing and other forms of entertainment. While in Dover, take advantage of the tax-free shopping. Downtown Dover is a thriving shopping area and the Dover Mall has dozens of stores to shop in. Dover is also popular with NASCAR fans where twice a year they flock to Dover International Speedway.

The Schwartz Center for the Arts hosts’ ballet, classic films and the Dover Symphony Orchestra. The Sewell C. Biggs Museum in Dover's historical district has collections dating back to the Colonial period. The First State Heritage Park at Dover boasts a gorgeous park and is home to where Delaware became the first state to ratify the Constitution. The Park covers over 300 years of American history and also provides lantern walks, cemetery tours and other events perfect for a family vacation.
