The property is undergoing a massive $115 million redevelopment to become the Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach later this year.
 
The transformation is already the buzz of the industry, having been named one of the 10 Most Anticipated Luxury Resorts Opening Around the World in 2017 by Bravo.com.
 
The Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach will still remain the quintessential hotel on the quintessential avenue on the quintessential beach in the most quintessential romantic place in the world.

The acclaimed design firm Rockwell Group and architectural firms WATG and Pacific Asia Design Group have been enlisted to reimagine the guestrooms and suites as well as public areas, including a 280,000-gallon lobby oceanarium. A destination pool deck with two new pools will be added. Two new Waikiki beach restaurants by celebrity chef Masaharu Morimoto will be featured in the new the hotel.
 
The grand re-opening of the hotel will take place in the fall of 2017 and will boast all new guestrooms and suites, each with a modern look yet cozy ‘beachside retreat’ kind of feel. The Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach in named in honor of Queen Liliuokalani, Hawaii’s last reigning monarch.
